RGB -> composite or Scart?

I've reached the limits of my knowledge. A FOF needs to get visible output from an old NC machine. He used to have a CRT monitor with (probably) 640x480 resolution and there were (I think) three RGB signals and one synch signal.

Now, he needs to convert to either composite or Scart.

Is that doable? Are there any OTS boxes? Or simple tricks? Anyone? Smoked?

Thanks a lot, Smoked! I knew there should be stuff out there.

My FOF still isn't quite happy. He says that these things are hard to find in Europe and that what he really wanted is a simple "trick". I guess he is thinking about a perfboard with some resistors, capacitors and - perhaps - a transistor. Preferably one that he already has in his drawer.

There's the spec! That's what friends of friends are for...

Gunnar, cables which convert RGB+sync to VGA are common enough over here. I used to have a heap of them - a couple of months ago I could have sent you a couple but I've changed jobs since then. The fifth core isn't needed with composite sync.

If we learn from our mistakes I'm getting a great education!

Thanks Scotty!

I guess my FOF has to look better!
