Hey Hi,
i want to perform rigid plastic analysis of steel. The plastic nature of the material is governed by the Power law. I tried not putting the elastic properties but it didnt work also i tried putting zero values in the elastic properties table still i didnt work. Can u please help me understand how the analysis can be done??

Hi,

Sorry I've never really heard of a rigid-plastic material. But could you just specify an elastic modulus that is several orders of magnitude greater than that of steel? Then specify your plastic properties as required?

Sorry if that is not helpful. Just a thought.

Good luck,
Dave

Thanks for the reply.

I agree with you that no such material like rigid plastic exist but i want to do analysis in the plastic region by eliminating the elastic property of the material. If i put the elastic property i get the residual stress strain data but i just want the plastic strain getting developed in the body. The stress strain curve for the rigid plastic body is attached. Can any one give me any suggestion regarding that??
