I have built a model of a rigid projectile sphere (R3D4 elements), impacting 2 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) plates. I have used Johnson Cook to model the damage.
The job runs and solves fine and I think the result is reasonable.
However in the simulation in the visualization module the failed elements remain in the model and I would prefer them to disappear. They seem to have zero strain and become huge enlarged elements. If anyone with experience in this field could make any suggestions for how I could make these failed elements shear off rather than remain attached?
Any other criticisms/ improvements would also be greatly appreciated.
