Hello everybody,

I'm trying to perform a buckling analysis on a non linear geometry model.

This model is something similar to a net which can stretch and shrink so I'm not facing a classical buckling problem but something different.

Do you think I can witness the structure collapse performing a Riks analysis? Should I expect global buckling or only local buckling?

Can I introduce an imperfection in the model using Abaqus-CAE?

Hi MRute,

The Riks would be a good method for you, just like the dynamic.
With the Riks be carefull, because it will not perform very good at Load Control method unless you are using imperfection.
The other good stuff for Riks is a Displacement Control method; of course you can use imperfection here as well.

Regards,
Mark
