Hi colleagues,

I have one important task, could you help me to recognize, what kind of rock is this (refer to attached pictures)?

A very hard thing to do with just pictures, but it looks like granite to me!

Yes, it is really hard to recognize only with pictures. Unfortunately, that is all I got too.
My opinion is that this is Sandstone, because it is hard to identify different minerals (which is typical for sedimentary rocks) and in the picture below we could see large grain size, which is also not relevant to Igneous rock, but for Sedimentary rocks.

It looks like sandstone.bcs indivitual grains can be seen with naked eye

You could convince me that its Sandstone too. I would need to have it in my hand!

Do you have an edge that is fractured against something to show the scale? This way the grain structure and size can be seen?

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Feel any better?

Unfortunately, the guy who made the pictures is not a geo specialist.
I will ask him to make better pictures and send me.

What area of the world is the rock located?

It is in Bulgaria, city Sofia. Here could have almost any kind of rock.
I receive one sample, sent to me by courier, which I dont expect, but contractor surprise me.
I think it is definitely a Sandrock.
Thank You all for your help.

Best Regards

I am glad rocks are getting the recognition they deserve, if only sand was so lucky
