Roof Racks and Roof Loads

I am designing some specialised roof racks for SUV's. I need information on the maximum loads the roofs on these vehicals can take. I'm not sure approaching the manufacturers i.e Ford will help. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'd be surprised if they wouldn't help.

You'll probably find the owner's manual actually has the load rating for factory fit roof racks in it. You may be distressed by the low rating.
