Hey guys, I'm new here and hope you can help!

I'm new to NX, but have been using ProE for a few years. I'm running into more of annoyance than a problem and hope you can help.

In ProE you can rotate/orbit/manipulate the model by where you click point is, rather than the centroid or coordinate system center. I know that in NX if I click the middle button, hold for "3" seconds, I can then rotate about where I've clicked. While yes this works, I would rather it be the default. Where if I were to middle click and rotate it would automatically go about where I clicked, not needing to hold for 3 seconds.

Is there any way I can switch to this as the default mode of manipulation?

Hi Damien ,
What NX version you are on? Starting NX8.5 this behavoiur has changed a lot.You may refer to a previous thread for more details.
Best Regards

You can set the delay for this in customer defaults ; Gateway - Visualization - View /Screen tab --> there you will find Rotation Point Delay. Try reduce it to 0.

Best regards,

Michaël.

MickyV007 you are the man! That's exactly what I was looking for! I just don't understand why anyone would want this to be the other way. Kapil it's 7.5, but thanks for the effort anyway!

On my SpaceBall I am able to assign a command to one of my buttons to change the view rotation point, if that is what I want.
