Rotor arth fault high alarm

In our power plant rotor earth fault high alarm is coming but if i use spray which i used to clean HT panel breaker in the carbon brush of generator rotor, alarm will go.why?

A simplistic answer is because after spraying probably clean or insulate temporarily the source of ground fault.
