Im involved in a project where we want to use routing to define and create the cabling for elecrtical connector. Then the idea is to use deform feature to alter the cable path when applied to a different area of the assmebly. I thought i had seen this technique being used in the past but not familiar enough with routing to know how to set it up. Anyone have any experience with a similar scenario?

Thanks in advance.

I have used the method belwo with hydraulic hoses to allow re-use in different assemblies

Add connectors a to assembly b,
route paths between connectors,
define sweep features as deformable
add to parent assembly c
deform assembly b
override position of connectors a within the context of assembly c
move in context of assembly c

you can go one step further and create a part family of connectors sharing common routing ports, allowing connectors to be interchanged without losing associativity.

Hopefully this is clear.
