running abaqus keywords in CAE

Hi All,
is there a way to run input files command by command in ABAQUS/CAE and make sure that the code i write using ABAQUS keywords actually work as expected?
if it's not possible in CAE, then whats the best way?

I've never done this in AbAQUS CAE, I usually call ABAQUS in a CMD.EXE window and then follow the solvers in PROCESS of TASK MANAGER and in the .dat, .log and .msg files opened in CONTEXT TEXT EDITOR or NOTEPAD.

If I remember correctly, you can simply create new job in abaqus/cae and instead of model you can mark inp file (dropdown list model/input).
