Hi gurus
Anyone tried running sw thru wine in linux?
I have ubuntu 7.04 running off my old laptop hardrive thru usb port at start up and thought for curiosities sake i was wondering wheather i could install my sw 2006 on that drive.
Cheers lads
Good luck. I've tried running other big Windows apps. under WINE, with no success.
I'd like to see the Linux community take a whole-hearted effort in modifying the kernel to easily install and run Windows apps, w/o having to monkey with WINE.
It takes a lot of work to get WINE working for big applications. You have to locate and install a lot of DLLs.
A graphically intense program like SolidWorks has got to be the worst thing you can run on anything other than a correctly configured version of the intended operating system.
I have tried running the executable Edrawings under Linux. It did not work
