Hi all!

We have been using vacuum pumps for a while. But lately, we are having ruptured diaphragm. At first, it was because the diaphragm were not the suitable material. But we are now using the right material (Neoprene), but we still have problems.

Is it possible that the material is Neoprene but of a different "grade" and not as resistant as it's used to be?

What other possible cause can end up in a ruptured diaphragm?
We haven't change anything in our process.

Thanks!

iboivin, Strokes per minute and diaphragm manufacturer both have an impact on service life. I have seen a significant difference in diaphragm reinforcing material. Also Neoprene may be the best pick for chemical compatibility or temperature but may not offer the best all around service life. Every diaphragm material has a stroke life. Buna may have a slightly lower rating in your application but might also have a longer service life. I would check this out directly with the manufacturer. Regards Checman
