I have a few questions about cutting splines.

I'm not sure what splines these are... and what type of cutter to use...

I'm making a HD Rear Output shaft for my Dana 20 Transfercase... The only thing stopping me from finishing this project is the splines that go into the T-case and into a gear.... I counted the splines(15). I then measured the O.D. of the splines and Got 2.417".... With that I started plugging in numbers... This is what I figured...

Dp= 17/2.417= 7.0335" DP=7
ADD= 1/7= .1428"
CP= 3.1416/7= .4488"
CT= 1.5708/7= .2244"
CL= .15708/7= .02244"
DED= 1.15708/7= .1652"
WD= 2.15708/7= .30815"
PC= 15(.4488")= 6.732"
PD= 15(.1428")= 2.1428"
OD= 2.1428"+.2856"= 2.428"
RC= 1.812"

I have all of these numbers some probably N/A...If anybody knows what type of splines that a Dana 20 had and what cutter to use that would be great..
How would I know if these Splines are Involute, American Standard or Fellows Stub Tooth type?

Well, I just started measuring the Splines and so far nothing (Mathmatically) is correct. It must be stub splines right?
 
Thanks for the sites... I'll be sure to read-up on them... I found a cutter that matched the tooth radius and I counted the offset,height and rotations.. I know this isn't the proper method but... It worked... (on the test piece)... I'll tweak it a little more...
 
This is what figured for the Fellows Stub tooth (It seems like Some of Involute Spline formulas and Stub Fellows coinside)...
The only problem I have is the OD matching...
If I use the Involute method I get the desired O.D.
If I use the Fellows Stub method I get an O.D. that is way too small... But if I use the Fellows Stub method for my Addendum and dedendum... it works out perfect! Whole depth, tooth thickness etc...
Anyway, this is what I have for using the Fellows Sub Method

Number of Teeth = 15
O.D. = 2.2856"
Addendum = .0714"
Dedendum = .0893"
Whole Depth = .1609"
Clearance = .0179"
Circular Pitch = .4488"
Circular thickness = .2244"

When I figure my O.D. I keep getting 2.2856"... I keep playing with numbers..... Wait,... If I add my Whole Depth of .1609" to 2.2856" I get 2.4456".. then If I subtract the Clearance (.018") I get 2.4285"!!!! SWEEEEEEEET! and then when I offset and raise the height... do I take it from which O.D.??? The 2.4285" or the 2.2856"....
For 2.4285" O.D. the setover is .4689" and the height increase is .0910"... I'm guessing that this one is right...
for the 2.2856 offset is .4371" and height increase is .0683"...

I'm going to go with the first one.... To see how that works.. I cut a piece yesterday but I raised it the table, offset it and rolled the indexing head to get everything to match... CRAZY!!! That's why I was so confused....

Though, I do have another question.. It says in my book that the 1st thing to do is find a cutter that matches the side profile of a good tooth... If I have to tilt the cutter while trying to match the tooth profile do I still have to rotate the indexing head to match the tooth profile or will the offset and height increase cover that???
