S.S compatiblity with methanol 2

I need to know which grade of stainless steel is compatible with METHANOL , and what is the reason .

This is a slow ground ball. All stainless grades are resistant to methanol at all temperatures. The reason is that there is nothing in methanol to attack the passive layer; no chlorides, iron ions, sulfur. Methanol is a great media in which to clean stainless. Your only concern is to guard against impurities, such as chlorides.
