SA-325 NOT PERMITTED FOR ASMEIII ACCORDING ASME II, PART D SUBPART 1, TABLE 3?

In ASME II, Part D, Subpart 1 in table 3 the SA-325 Gr 1 structural bolt is classified for ASME III application NP=not permitted for maximum temperature limit, why is this bolt not allowed? The most curious thing is that the same table shows the SA-325 material without any classification and this material is applicable in ASME III.

Other BPV sections do allow this material for code applications which is why it’s listed.

I don't understand the point of Line 3 with no Grade, UNS, or Diameter specified but I've never seen A-325 stud bolts used with pressure vessel flanges before. They are permitted in ASME Section VIII but I've only seen them used for anchor bolts or structural steel.

Christine, I wondered about that as well, My old (2009) SA-325 lists bolts of Type 1 and Type 3 (weathering steel) only. No "untyped" bolts. I wonder if this was added in a newer Edition?
