We write the purchase part specification to state that the pipe is
to conform to SA-53 Grade B ERW pipe, with the wall thickness and length specified.
We believe that is all that is necessary. Product Marking is a requirement
of SA-53, and we do not believe that we have to specify
the specific product markings. Are we wrong?

Thanks for your help.

You are correct. Be careful with less than full lengths(21-40 ft.)it may not be properly marked.

Tip:MTRs are not required for most construction codes, but ask for them anyway. The vendor seems to take more care.
