Hello,

I just became aware that the CSA-40.21 grades 44W and 50W have been included in the latest 2013 edition of ASME VIII-1. I've been going through the code to see how this material has been adopted with respect to section UCS. One aspect that somewhat surprised me was the lack of inclusion in section UCS-6(b) (limitations of use for lethal service, unfired steam boilers, thicknesses over 5/8", etc...), as it is a structural grade of steel commonly compared to SA-36.

Does anyone know if there has been any further discussion from ASME on this being the correct intention, or whether this was perhaps an oversight?

Cheers,
Marty
