Hi,

I'm new to SACS and currently learning SACS by myself. I have query regarding "critical position" input for WAVE II card under seastate load generation.
What is(are) criteria(s) to be considered before putting our input? The choices are "maximum overturning moment", "minimum overturning moment", "Max Base shear", "Min Base shear", "Max upward force", "Max downward force" and "all positions".

Appreciate your helpful explanation.

Thanks.

To briefly add some thought here,

It depends on what you are checking for. The wave generator will pass a crest and trought through the structure and pick out the selected values based on what you provide out of the criteria you describe.

You might need to select both for different stability conditions, eg on bottom stability, or maximum pile axial force.

Thanks london.

However, what do you mean by "you might need to select both". Does it mean i have to re-run different sets of analysis by choosing different input and compare its results? Eg: 1st run, i use max base shear. Then, 2nd run, i use max overturning moment. Then, compare both results?

Thanks.
