I need some help understanding the usage of "Wave Loads" in SACS.
Iam being provided with only Wave height & Wave period. So, not sure what to input for..

1. Initial Crest Position
2. Wave position Step size
3. Number of Crest positions..

Is there any standard procedure/thumb rule for those values. I tried looking in the Seastae manual but couldnt understood..

Thanks for Help..

You need to have a small enough step increment to provide a detailed analysis. Ive seen 5 degrees used before.

You need enough steps to cover the full motion of the wave. so for 5 degrees, 72 steps minimum.

The wave crest position determines where the crest is, along the 360 degrees. Ive seen 90 degrees here, to allow the peak and the trough not to be clipped.

Setting the 'wave print' option (character 76 in the wave inpt line) to '3' will give you a detailed output of the fluid velocities, here you can check the wave motion as it passed through.
