Hello,

Can anyone explain how to use the weights corretly in SACS.

I defined various types of weights on the structure & created load conditions by including weight groups. But when I run the analysis I couldnt see any reations due to these weights.
Is weight groups need to be used only with accelaration? Cant we use weights instead of load to analyze the structure.

Please help!!

Thanks

I will advice you check your output option in the datagen Maybe reaction was not included in your print option. You can also attach the input file so I can assist.

I was using the accelaration as "0". after changing it accelaration Z value to "1", it gave me the results..
Do I need to use accelaration in Z as 1 alwys in combination to Z in along other axis..

Thanks

Hi,
If u want to use weight to generate load in sacs, there are 2 following steps
1. Define weight in weight menu
2. Generate load using environment/loading menu (i. define center of roll, ii. define acceleration (z dir), iii. includ wt group u want to apply as load

Yanoby.. Thanks for your response.

But if I dont have any acclarations & centre of roll. I want to check if we can analyze the model using weights instead loads

Thanks

Hi,
u can define trans acceleration z = 1g and center of roll default 0,0,0
