Hello all,

I'm looking for a dimensional reference for an SAE 5 hole pattern flange. Plenty of ANSI/ASME refs out there but could not find any for SAE.

Maybe they are one in the same?

Thanks in advance.

Meet us halfway and tell us what the flange is in; SAE has standards for lots of different kinds of flanges.

The flange is being used in a processing tank for waste oil. The waste comes into the tank is controlled via a level switch. The level switch is mounted to the tank with a 5 hole pattern SAE flange. The tank is pressurized to 150#'s.

Typically I would receive a spec for a 1" 150# ANSI flange for example. This customer has specified an SAE flange instead.

I was looking for a chart that would state the bolt circle, flange thickness etc...for this standard.

Thanks

Does SAE even have a flange standard? Most of their standards deal with things used to manufacture automobiles. Are there any SAE members out there that can verify if there is a standard for flanges? SAE charges for their standards and they can get expensive.

SAE has standards for flywheels and flywheel housings, but those are big, and have 8/10/12 bolts.
They have standards for hydraulic flanges, but those have two or four bolts.

... Ah. There IS such a flange, as used in level sensors like this:

Unfortunately, the page doesn't reference _which_ standard applies. You might be able to find it by searching
