What's the difference between SAE-Grade-5 ASTM A449 and ASTM A325?

Both are Medium Carbon, Quenched and Tempered; Proof Load = 85,000 psi; Tensile Strength = 120,000 psi.

Is Grade 5 an acceptable substitution?

Thank you!

CANPRO... Thank you for your reply.

After speaking with Portland, the major difference between the two is that the A325 has a 1/8" greater heavy hex head which is critical for the tensile application that i was inquiring about.

Thanks again!
