Could anyone tell me how to get SAE straight sided spline standard. I am working on a relatively short shaft that has a SAE straight sided external spline.

I have two straight sided spline shafts. The designation are as follows:
SAE D44.45x16C and SAE D38.1x10C.
Diameters 44.45 and 38.1 are in mm.6 and 10 are the number of teeth and as far as I know C has something to do with fit tolerances.

44.45 mm is 1.75 inches.
SAE D44.45 X 6C would convert to 1.75 X 6C splines. You have mentioned SAE D44.45 X 16C but there are no specs for 1.75 inch -16 splines.
This standard for internal splines is there in the machinery's handbook.
