Sae taper spline pitman arm

Hello

I am currently trying to design a new pitman arm for a 1960's Facel vega.
i would have to design new pitman arm to fit to a rebuilt steering box.
does anyone have any dimensions on how to machine the 4/32 tapered splines?
any help would be greatly appreceated!!!

Plain tapers are in table 2 of J501, and splines are in table 1, but 4/32 tapered spline doesn't make much sense to me. How would a machine shop make the female part of a tapered spline at 100 units an hour? Can you post a picture?

thank you for your quick reply!!!
Its a common steering box ( built by the millions) just hard to find any info about the design/ standard of the thing.
its 32 small splines and 4 large splines.

That's not in the SAE handbook I have I'm afraid. I'm guessing they do some sort of broaching op for the female part, tricky stuff.

Dear gregg which handbook have you got?
i am going to get a copy as well
we can measure/scan the part and reverse engineer ( faro/ solid works) but always better to have
the books!
