This is an old topic discussed earlier . (thread292-225652) Safe distance during hydrotesting.
The formula discussed was
safe distance = (0.15) x (D) x (a)^0.4 x (p)^0.6
where D - internal diameter (m)
a - length / diameter of piece (m)
p - test pressure (bar)
The code reference given was Norwegian specification T0240|72-12| and in the footer "Rules, issue 96-02".
is it possible to know the title of the Norwegian Code which is referenced in earlier discussion?
A similar discussion on CR-4 FORUM Gives reference to "Netherlands Stoomwezen Rules for pressure vessels
T0240|72-12(96-09)"
Would appreciate if anyone can clarify the source of this formula for calculating safe distance during hydrotest.
Thanks in advance
