Many industries are more hazardous than working in the offshore oil business.

The brief list of large accidents at Rigzone misses the largest oil spill from Ixtoc 1 in the Gulf of Mexico. That would be the E in HSE. It also misses the more frequent small accidents. Accidents are preventable. It helps to be aware of the types of accidents that have occurred to prevent them.
