Salt Precipitation and Buildup in Wellbore

Hi, I am new here and I am currently out of my first year of college and am a summer intern for Burlington Resources (or ConocoPhillips now). I am doing a project on salt precipitation in wells in a field we are producing. I was simply wondering how people are dealing with these problems. I know that in this field we pump KCl water (usually 3-7%) into the well and that does the trick. But would hot oil or a cap string do well? The latest salt buildup was about 9960 feet down and we pumped 20 bbls of 7% KCl down and left it for two days and then we were able to get through. Does anyone have anything that they think would be worthwhile for me to know about this type of problem or any advice at all?

I have seen in the past wells that had a very high salt content use a cap string to syphon treated fresh water down to the wellbore. This worked very well. We were also able to add to the fresh water a corrosion inhibitor and a foamer to stimulate production as well.
