Salt Spray Test - If Multiple Parts are being analyzed

Hello,

If Multiple parts are being tested for the same finish to meet a standard, how would this task be handled? Multiple parts will not be the same, but will vary in size, design, edges, corners etc.
1. Should testing be done for all different parts for validation?
2. Should I select 1-3 parts of the most difficult design to see how well it does in a Salt Spray Chamber, and then approve the rest since others maybe more simple designs?

How can I reduce cost or approach this situation? I have not done this before.

Thank you,
FGY

Are you testing to a spec to satisfy a customer?
Or are you testing to an internal requirement?

Yes, I am testing a spec to satisfy a customer, but they have multiple parts. Trying to save cost and time. What would be the best approach to satisfied customers and my end, so both are validated, saved in cost & time?

well, re the customer(s), you need to ask them. what does the spec say about coverage for multiple parts? why would you ask the internet for advice and not your customers?
you could propose a subset of parts, based on complexity and criticality, and get your customers to agree.
since you can presumably put multiple parts into test at the same time, the number selected may not influence the test time.

why would you ask the internet for advice and not your customers?
Because OP already knows that the answer is to test all of them, which is not what they want to hear.

Well one time test for each lot configuration as required by the specification.
But not the entire lot.
Test is required for each different part number as dictated in spec, all ways follow the spec, and yes ask the engineers , your customer to confirm.
