Sanitary Sewers in Floodplain

Does anyone know where I can find some design standards for flood-proofing of saniatry sewer line. To prevent flood water from elevating the system, to prevent cracks, leakage, and vegetation getting inside.

Look for a sealed lid cover detail within your jurisdiction's details.

elevate the manhole rim above the 100-year flood elevation and then provide leak proofing to the manhole shaft. There are numerous types of linings that can do this. If you are below the water table, you should use leak proof joints and perhaps ductile iron pipe with restrained joints.

I think the concern that ropotto mentioned was an issue of buancy and not so much the infiltration issues. I've not seen it addresssed specifically.

Might also consider HDPE pipe to reduce potential infiltration flow thru pipe joints. Need to also consider buoyancy of pipe materials.
