Saving a CATPart with an Imploded Specification Tree?

I am unable to save a CATPart with an imploded specification tree i.e. I manually explode the tree to make it tidy, however when I save and re-open the part the tree is expanded in some places and not in others. Is there a way to save a CATPart with a collapsed tree?

What is your setting for tree expansion?

Look at Tools - Options - General - Display - Tree Manipulation tab. If 'Automatic expand activation' is activated turn it off.

I have checked the tree manipulation tab and it was already de-selected. Any other ideas?
