Saving as a jpeg

Does anyone know how to save a jpeg in a better quality than what Solidworks outputs from File/Save As/Jpeg? Using 07x64.

I'd recommend saving as a TIFF format, importing into an image editor, and using the image editor to control compression levels of your JPEG. I do this with Photoshop Elements and can get excellent control and results. (Another nice thing about TIFF format is that the original image is not degraded, but pure, and you can also have transparent backgrounds in the TIFF file to place your image [rendered in PhotoWorks] into a scene or with a different background without a cumbersome trimming process.)

Bitmaps are huge in size... I know its easy to convert a bitmap to a Jpeg if you have some type of Image software. Someone should write a code like that for Jpeg... Heck SW might buy it up if it gets enough hits :-D

I usually hit F9 & F10, zoom the image as large as I can, then use a screen capture program to get JPEG file. It's essentially the same as what rfus was saying.

It think it is odd that the options to establish size and dpi are grayed out in SolidWorks for bitmap (BMP/JPG/TIFF)formats. Is licensing an issue? If so, it's odd that the functionality would still be allowed through VB.

I have not been pleased with SW derived images in general, but MS Paint has offered "save as - jpg" for a while now

a jpeg image is nothing more than a compressed bitmap (roughly 1/10th in compression). Don't forget SW2007 has a screen capture funtion now that works like Alt+print screen only you don't get the whole window, just the viewport.

I had the same problem.
I just put the sreen to max resolution (2048 x15xx...)
and made a screenshot then.

Solidworks always takes the current screen reolution as qualitystandard for the jpeg files.
