Saving as Autocad - Setting Layer Linetypes and Colors

Hello,

Need some help figuring out. I like all my drawings the way they are in Inventor 2010, but I need to export as Autocad 2007 for vendors and suppliers. All my drawings transfer with separate layers, but everything is white and a constant linetype. Right now I manually go into autocad and change all the layer color and linetype settings. Time consuming with close to 100 drawings.

Any way to automate that or set up a template or configuration file?

Thanks!

In my Version 11, I can set a template file in the "save-as dwg" dialogue (There is an "options..." when you are in the save-as dialogue and select .dwg). At that point, it matches layers that are named exactly the same.

Although I believe the newer versions have native dwg support, so I can't say for sure if that option is still there.

Yeah I have seen that option to do that. I'll have to see if I can get an Inventor drawing to export with all the possible layers to I can set what I want in Autocad.

That did the trick. Created an autocad file with all the same layers as in the inventor file and then links the dwg/dxf out config file to it.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
