SCADA/HMI packages

Hi All
With so many Scada/HMI packages i would love to know what your opinion on the prefered packages are, i recently started working on Zenon SCADA and it has blown my mind away in terms of other packages i've worked with..... The functionality and convenience is astounding....

Not the easiest package to master.. BUT once you there, you must be lovin it...

Have not even heard of it. Love Citect. Best trends in the business and a new version coming up with heaps of improvements.

Hello;
The market leaders are Wonderware and Intellution. A runner up is Rockwell's RSView which now comes in two different versions. Of all of them, I say Intellution is the easiest to work with.
Another intertesting SCADA package that I found good for small systems is KEPWare. This is made by KEP. They also make a full line of OPC drivers.

I am presently looking at a replacement to an old proprietary SCADA system, and have looked at several. The one that I am lookinmg closely at is Factorylink, made by US-Data (now part of Tecnomatix).

What I like about this product is :

Scalability
Ease of creating mimics, and automation
Wide range of interfaces available to third party products
Lots of "advanced" facilities - ability to complie maths and logic, write you own interfaces and tasks, interface with standard databases, ODBC and OPC etc etc.
VBA and SQL Server products inbuilt
Expandability to very large systems

Have a look at Citect also. Huge number of standard drivers for PLC's, Modbus, OPC etc etc. You can download a full version for free. It works for 2 hours and then you have to re-start it.

Also have a look at the standard driver list. It is huge and all are at no extra cost. There are a few exceptions such as AB. You have to buy a licence for them and a couple of others.

Hi,

I'm still missing one WINCC of Siemens. I've worked with WinCC ver 5.2 but ver 6.0 now also uses for scripting VBS they also changed from database Sybase to MSSQLServer.
Also worked with Citect, Genesis, IC2000 and Intouch but not much differnce between those.

I liked the "genies" and "super genies" in Citect.
Have you seen anything like that (in terms of reusable objects) in one of the other packages ?

Just wondered if you had any experiance with this particular subject.

In zenOn it has the almost the same function as the Citect "Genies" and "Super Genies" it works on a link facility where your popup is linked to certain variable structure group, to link them is a question of inserting two strings into a command line argument format.....

It is really quick , only depending on the way you enter your variable structures

We use the older Kep system at our site. But we are currently changing over to Iconics. Its windows based very user friendly with set up and if you have alot of networked plc's to servers the Iconics addresses the whole server with ease. It is being successfully used on single standalone machines and networked plc systems across the site.
