SCR firing techniques

Hello,

Could somebody recommend me some resources when I could find more information on different SCR firing techniques (Hard Fire, Picket Fence Firing, Trigger Pulse firing... )?

I would be interested in pros, contras and typical usage as well as design considerations for pulse parameters in each of the methods.

This paper is specific to Medium Voltage SCRs, but it covers basic issues that apply to most methods.

The new Westcode devices have data sheets that give a recommended gate drive. Or else they have some application notes. I know they detail the gate pulse you should apply.
