I have to check the B screws (subgirt to structure) of a building. The safety factors used in our company are undecided (from 2 to 4). Could anybody suggest any refference for screws safety factors in construction?
Thanks in advance.

For steel-to-steel in tension, I try to use 2.5 or greater safety factor as general guide. Same for shear. For embedded anchors in concrete, I use 4 to 5. Most anchor manufacturers use 5.

I don't have a specific reference for this, just a practice.

I Am not sure what type of screw you are inquiring about. I think your asking about self tapping screws.I suggest that you contact the Indugtrial Fasteners Institute, Cleveland , OH 44114.
