Hi,
We have been using Bulb Seal PN: ARB1559 for years as part of a Boeing 737 Freighter Conversion project on the 9G Bulkhead Sliding Door INSTL and it has been getting harder and harder to procure, to the point that an alternative substitution is needed.
I' am thinking on the Boeing bulb seal PN: 10-60754-XX since some of them have similar profiles and the outer surface is covered with fabric (15199 Dacron polymer or Nomex HT117 fabric).
But I cannot get the 10-60754 catalog to pick one similar to the ARB1559. It does not have to be exact. Here it is the drawing with dimensions:
INNER DIAMETER: 0.590
OUTER DIAMETER: 0.75
WALL THICKNESS: 0.080
TOTAL WIDTH: 2.20
spec: DMS 2121-1-50 (but can be from BMS1-57N-1-50/53)
fabric cover: 15199 DACRON POLYMER OR NOMEX HT117 FABRIC FROM STERN & STERN TEXTILES INC. (this is a must)

If anyone have this catalog and would like to share it, or have other options...

Hi,

10-60754 isn't a Boeing "catalogue" per-se, but a drawing number. Last time I referred to it, there were hundreds of pages (500+) in that drawing now, each seal profile occupying a page or two. If my memory serves, that's the only source of profile shape, material specification and reinforcement that you need. Can you access the drawing through MyBoeingFleet?

More recently (think 747-8, 787 era), the 10-60754 drawing has been upsurped by BAC1530-XXX so it more closely aligns with numbering convention for extrusions, rolled profiles etc. I dont know if it's as clever as their extrusion database where the designer can punch in a couple of parameters and gets back a list of suitable candidates and their availability, materials, where-used,. etc.

If you cannot get access to the BAC 1530 or 10-60754 drawings, then perhaps you could approach the seal manufacturers and ask them what profiles are available for purchase.

The main ones used by Boeing are:-
1) Meggit (and
2) Cascade Gasket & Manufacturing (
You could also reach out to Aviall and ask them for a list of their 10-60754 and BAC1530 profiles.

Airbus and Mitsubishi use Hutchinson (
If the ARB1559 seal is no longer active, the IPC for the used-on aircraft should have a replacement part number. Providing that airplane type is still active.
