Can any fluid be used for seal/cooling fluid in a liquid ring pump e.g. crude oil (gas a gas application)?

Best regards

Is this subject anything like what is in thread1036-93865?

Morten,

nearly any liquid is suitable but pls. check

- vapour pressure(s) (because of cavitation and because of a possible loss of capacity if a fraction is condensing during compression and reflashing at the inlet)

- viscosity (start conditions, power absorbed,..)

- specific heat (the highest the best, as the seal liquid will have to evacuate the heat)

- solubilty of gas in the seal liquid (possible re-flashing at inlet condition).

- pump and seals materials

The vapour pressure might actually become a problem. I will have to look more into that.

Thank you for your input.
