Sealing system material

We are designing a sealing system for a tripper discharge in a coal thermal power plant (these discharge the coal in the coal chutes). The tripper will discharge the coal over a neoprene sheet. We need a material that allows the neoprene sheet to recover its position (horizontal position) once the discharge of the coal has finished in order to maintain the sealing function of it. I was thinking about an elastic metallic strip join to the sheet to achieve that. Because of the characteristics of the area, we need something easy to install and maintain.

Gerhardl, sorry if I couldn´t explain enough clear my problem. Basically I am searching a system or material (it could be a simple elastic strip or something like this)that when it is attached to a neoprene sheet, can permit it to recover an original position, after a discharge of material over it.
Sorry again if I can´t explain correctly my situation.

I think I get what you are trying to describe. You need a spring return support arm that will carry the neoprene sheet back up to its default position and seal it in place against the bottom structure of a discharge spout, is that right?

This is like a trapdoor for a coal stoker, is that correct?

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

Ornerynorsk is exactly what you have described. The point is to select the best system to allow the neoprene sheet to back up its original position (by means of a spring or other system). gerhardl thanks, I am consulting several companies in Spain, specialized in these type of systems.
