Materials

Hi there,
Please am wondering why its so difficult searching for equivalent material specs online. Does anyone know of a site that easily compare diff standards and give you their corresponding equivalence for high temperature materials?

I had been looking for the equivalences for the following materials:

TS48C (for Economiser tubes)
A480 CP-M (valve bodies)
15CDV9-1 (valve body)
A48CP (valve body)
AM60 (steam drum plate. )

AM 60 (search had been coming up as magnesium alloy - but this is not what i want as this is not a high temp material).

Would appreciate the house help on this please. thanks

There are limited references to material equivalents for pressure part materials because codes and standards requirements vary globally. There is no such thing as a code equivalent material; you are dealing with alternative materials that still due diligence to be performed before selecting for use.
Looking at your itemized list of material it would appear you are dealing with boiler and pressure parts.
You need to understand that most codes and standards will not permit use of an alternative material unless it has been listed as permitted material.

What is the code of construction or standard that applies for use of these materials?

And what do you mean with "equivalences"? The corresponding ISO, JS or whatever standard nos. for these materials or are you looking for other (equivalent) materials?

@metengr, thanks for your info. The code of construction should be the french construction code.

@micalbrch, yes i meant to say the corresponding ISO, BS or EN standards and not alternative materials. Thanks

You probably won't like what I have to tell you but you will need to build a spreadsheet and compare each material. Also, does the French code permit use of "other" materials that are not listed? I am only familar with ASME B&PV Code. When materials other than those permitted for use are submitted for consideration a detailed techical review is performed.
