I'm new to NX, and now I'm stuck trying to figure out
1. How to get section bondary displayed in different width/color?
2. How assign different hatch styles to different parts in assembly? Not just that assembly hatching flag but rather descriptive material based hatching.
3. Is it possible to assign hatching to face? (for ex. to show tile layout)

Welcome to NX.

First, it would be quite helpful to know which version of NX you're using, as things tend to change from one release to another and a correct response might be dependent upon knowing the NX version.

If you happen to be using NX3 (the version I am using), here are the answers to your questions:

1. Select the Style icon (2 letter A's) then select the hatching and then OK by clicking the middle mouse button (MB2) on a 3 button mouse. If you're using a scroll button mouse, I believe you press the scroll wheel down until it clicks, but I'm not positive. Once you get to the Style dialog, select the hatch pattern, color and angle you want then OK or Apply and OK.

2. To assign different hatching, do #1 above. I'm not aware of any automatic way to assign hatching since NX only allows 1 default hatch style at a time, so how could it assign more than 1 automatically without custom programming?

3. I'd just manually define the hatch boundary. You can use curves or face edges to assign a hatch boundary.

For further information I'd suggest reading the documentation.

Hope this helps.
