Section Curve color

Hello,

I'm using the Section Curve function to cut sections thru a number of bodies in an assembly. I like for the resulting curves to be the same color as the body it is a section of.

Is there some setting the I can't seem to find or tip to do this?

I could write a GRIP program to cycle thru the bodies and section the bodies one at a time, resetting the default object creation color to the body's color each type but I was hoping somebody as a simpler method.

This is a feature that I would also like to see. Right now it is not an option but there are 2 work arounds that I know of.

1) If you use view sectioning (view->operation->section...) and can get the view right where you want it there is a button to create section line curves which will be the same color as the individual bodies (in NX1 at least).

2) If this does not work for you I have a grip program that will do it.

Thanks for the help. The view sectioning will do the job for now but I'd still like be to do more then one section at a time like with section curve.

I knew that view sectioning could create curves but I thought that it would just used the section curve function has the icon is the same.

For section curve, I do not check the associate and DO check the group curves. This puts the curves created in a group.

If you pick all bodies, say 5, all the curves will be in a group.

If you do the section curve 5 times and pick one solid each time then you have the section curves with 5 seperate groups. Then I go to EDIT>Object Display. Pick one curve then the "Up One Level" will be turned on, pick that, it will then pick the rest of the "grouped curves" in that section.

The best part is that it will pick them whether they are seen in you data window or even blanked.

Help, I don't know. Neat tip, you decide.
