Just curious on whether there is seismic design values for Africa. I have a repair project that I am doing on a concrete structure, and just want to check for seismic loads, and curious if they were available. A quick google search hasn't turned up anything useful.

Here's a link to an old copy of the US Navy's Unified Facility Criteria for Structural Engineering. Appendix F, table F-3 may help some. It has seismic data for bases and cities around Africa. Sadly the newer versions excluded these tables. They have moved them elsewhere, but I haven't done any NAVFAC work in a few years so I'm not sure.

Thanks for the link, but couldn't find Appendix F, Table F-3, so maybe they already have the information removed.

Thanks

PhamEng's link is one good source

A few countries have published specific maps for their areas. Not many yet, but more every year.

You can also approximate seismic design values from a worldwide hazard map like GEM/GSHAP

Sorry. Wrong link. I updated it above. Page 153 of the pdf.

Probably better if you be more specific for the country rather than a continent ..

Just write SEISMICITY AFRICA and found the following documents..

You may look to the following links ..

If you search you can find PSHAs for Mozambique, Uganda etc

Thanks everybody for the tips. I got what I needed!
