Hello Everyone,
I wanted to check the horizontal base shear distribution in individual storey of a building modelled in SAP2000. However I cant find any options out there. Can anyone suggest how to get seismic weight of individual storey, so that with total seismic weight and base shear I can get the horizontal distribution ?

You can indirectly determine the seismic horizontal force of a story by subtracting the sum of column shear of that story with that of story above it.

Story seismic wright.
1. Sum up all the joint masses of a story. 2. Multiply it with g to get seismic weight.

Thanks Blackstar123 for the Reply. Can you please guide how to determine column shear . I am new to SAP2000 .

how to determine column shear
Column shear force is nothing but the frame shear force calculated by programme in local axis 2 or 3 direction. See the snapshot below.

To give you an example, Let the lateral forces applied on a frame are:

You can do a sort of backstep calculation using column shear forces to determine the applied forces, as follows.

Just to make sure you understand that, seismic story force can be determined by method describe above as long as columns are the only lateral force resisting elements.
