While viewing self balancing scooters on the internet and I came across this self balancing scooter which really fascinated me, but gave me doubts at the same time. It claims to have the "second generation" scooters with Path Finding. I don't get it. How does it work? Concept of path finding with scooters is really confusing me, can someone explain if this is just a hoax or real?

A Segway without broom-stick, I would say.
I saw a video where one of those was used for shop-lifting.
If they are trusted by criminals, I see no reason not to trust them myself.
The path? That you have to find yourself. Pathfinder is probably just a name. Like Heart of Gold - another futuristic vehicle.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

Perhaps it has a GPS and can remember the path taken; just a wild guess!!

Hmm, couple the infinite improbability drive to a scooter, and where would you end up? Hopefully not inside a whale plummeting to its death.

Skogs, #3 son (who you've met) is considering studying music at a university in Sweden, though he has other possibilities in mind as well.

I imagine it keeps you on a straight path should one wheel encounter a resistance that causes path to veer and no change is detected by the foot position sensors directing a change.

Two-wheeled, Self Balancing Robot Platform with OpenCV Path Finding: Phase I
Purpose
The purpose of this project is to create a two wheeled balancing robot platform. This is the first phase of a project to build a robot which can autonomously follow hiking trails while recording its position, and taking 360º photos to create Google Street View-style immersive photos of hiking trails.

Thats nice to hear, BTB!

If he needs somewhere to go in his spare time, he is always welcome to our little house. Can be reached by train. We have lakes, trails, mountains and such things. And if that isn't what he is looking for, we have the Opera pa Skaret, local musicians and the Cassel Donation. Plus Karin likes to play the piano (a synth nowadays). Could be great fun. Or just plain good.

There is room for two or three people in a separate apartment with its own bath-room if he likes to bring friends. Some gardening may be expected...

:) Will let him know, thanks Gunnar. It's all just in the talking stage right now.
