any suggestions for a clamp that would lock automatically a removable enclosure to a machine frame when the operator pushes the enclosure in place, as opposed to them having to intentionally drop the fasteners in place after the enclosure is pushed into position (as is done now). I'm envisioning the mechanism on an extension ladder, only to disengage I don't have the luxury of pushing it farther forward as on a ladder, someone will have to lift up the engaged pin/clamp in order to release from its locked position.

A spring-loaded latch or catch.

The bathroom door has a spring-loaded latch or catch on it. It "locks" (latches) automatically a "removable enclosure" (the door) to a "machine frame" (the house frame, actually) when the operator (me) pushes the enclosure (door) in place (closed).

Vague question, vague answer.
