I'm working on a shoring scheme for an older structure that utilizes siporex roof panels (approximately 4" thick). I can't seem to find any information on the self weight of this material. Can anybody point me to a source for that information or does anybody know what it's density is?

Thanks in advance.

We have actually done numerous checks on the siporex. It weighs approx. 10 psf for a 4" slab. Keep in mind, it gets quite brittle, so I wouldn't be supporting directly to the slabs.
Cheers

Thanks for your info. Luckily I have assumed something substantially higher for my calcs. We are supporting the panels parallel to each joist with a continuous member, so that the reactions are relatively low and distributed.

Thanks again.
