Can SolidWorks perform sensitivity and optimization studies like PRO/E's behavioural modeling module?

That sounds more like a Cosmos Question, more than a SW Question.

Thanks for the reply Scott. However, I was not very clear in my original post. My company is moving to standardize on SolidWorks from PRO/E and Inventor and I am not familar with the capabilities of SolidWorks. What I was getting at in my original post is using SolidWorks to perform sensitivity/optimization of mass properties such as parametrically changing various model dimensions over a given range to peform some desired objective like locating the center of gravity of automobile cam shaft on the shaft axis, or achieving a certain section modulus about a particular coordinate system. I use this funtionally with PRO/E's behavioral modeling module to refine my design as best I can prior to performing any additional optimization with FEA analysis.

Yes you can find the center of gravity with SW. You can add material to your parts and specifiy densities, etc... The best thing for you to do is to actually call a VAR, get a copy of SW, ask that spefic question to your VAR and have them show you where to find it. Then take that Knowledge and put it to the test, to see if it works for you.

tanfolio,
The simple answer to your question is no, SWX does not include functionality like that of ProE's BMX, at least not directly.

There may be some third party programs that can do this..
OR
SWX does include a very easy and powerful Visual Basic API. This can be used to create macros or add-ins to accomplish some of the same stuff that BMX can do.
