I would appreciate any help or suggestions. I am currently looking for a sensor (not too expensive)which would be able to measure the mass of some powder inside a spring of diameter 36.5mm. I don't know much able load cells etc.

Can you accurately weight the spring then do the math to describe why it doesn't weigh enough (the powder)?
