Series TVSS

Aside from miscoordination, are there negative effects associated with series connecting two TVSS systems? For example, plugging a UPS with TVSS into a power strip with the same level of TVSS or higher.

The connection you describe is not series, but cascade or tandem. The MOVs will be in parallel with each other and with the load. I'm not aware of any negative effects.
