Hello everybody,
I am trying to set a customized environment and also a customized customer defaults for my company. I want to make everyone's installation look at certain files places in a network folder (imposing Site Level), and then allow the individual users to make their modifications at User Level.
For Site Customer Defaults I had no problem:
I created my customer defaults and I saved the .dpv file in the startup directory "D:\network_drive\NX_custom\startup"
I edited "ugii_env.dat" making the environment variable UGII_SITE_DIR="D:\network_drive\NX_custom\"
And everything works OK. No problems there.
The problem comes when I try to set the customized interface. I will explain how I am doing it just in case someone can spot the mistake....
The modifications in the user interface I want to add to everyone's NX environment is the presence of two palettes, and also the columns that NX displays at the time to "Assign material" to a part: (I mention it because I am not fully aware if it is contained on the .mtx file settings)
I set everything up and exit NX. Then it creates automatically the file "user.mtx" in the folder "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Siemens\NX120".
I copy that file and I paste it into my start up directory "D:\network_drive\NX_custom\application"
According what it is explained in the Siemens doc (and also mentioned in another thread in the forum) if I edit the file "custom_dirs.dat" present (in my local NX installation directory) and I add there my startup directory "D:\network_drive\NX_custom".
NX is supposed to read the .mtx file in the startup directory when I start it... But it looks as if it does not.
I am starting to hesitate if the role file ".mtx" contains the modifications in the palettes and the columns... because there is no way I can make NX reading my customization of palettes and columns from a file.
So, maybe someone can give me a hand on that?
1. Are the palettes selection and the columns displayed in the "Assign Material" menu contained in .mtx settings?
2.a. If they are.... Any idea why NX is not reading my .mtx file while starting?
2.b. If they are not... Any idea of how can I print this modifications in a file and make my NX installation reading it while starting up??
Sorry for the long post... But I'd rather explain it properly!!
And thanks a lot in advance for your time!
